ETC/CME report 5/2019: Overview of reported national policies and measures on climate change mitigation in Europe in 2019

Member States have to report every two years on their national greenhouse gas policies and measures. In 2019, EU Member States reported a total of 1925 expired, existing and planned policies and measures. This is a marked increase in the number of policies and measures reported by Member States, that partially can be explained by the preparation of the National Energy and Climate Plans and the new interventions that it includes. However, despite modest improvement, quantitative evidence on the effectiveness and costs of these measures remains insufficiently reported. Read more here...
