About

This website provides access to information on Europe’s progress towards achieving its climate and energy goals. It is based on official data submitted by Member States and European countries, as required by EU legislation, and compiled and quality ensured by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and its European topic centres. In some topic areas, the data are submitted by companies across Europe, reflecting their respective greenhouse gas emissions and energy use.

Many of the targets and reported data on this site are related to the energy union and climate action. In some areas, Member States set their own targets, and in others, their targets and quotas are negotiated and set centrally.

This website is managed by the EEA, which supports the European Commission in monitoring national progress towards climate and energy goals and conducts regular assessments of European progress across a range of environmental areas and systems. If you have any questions about the content of this website, please contact climate-energy@eea.europa.eu.
